  • Dorothy is a silent partner and is not actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the firm. She is consultant at the firm especially on Corporate Governance issues.
  • Dorothy is a holder of a Bachelor of Law degree, a Masters in Commercial Laws from the University of Cambridge, is an Advocate of the High Court  Uganda and East Africa, and a Chartered Secretary.
  • Dorothy Masifa Ochola has extensive years of leadership and governance experience spanning the Legal, Financial Sector, Corporate Governance in multinational conglomerates and local and multilateral development finance institutions.
  • Dorothy’s executive management and board experience includes her roles as Manager, Board & AGM Management (African Export-Import Bank), Head of Legal & Company Secretary (Standard Chartered Bank & Uganda Development Bank), Legal Manager (Stanbic Bank Uganda) and Legal counsel in M/s Katende, Ssempebwa & Co. Advocates.
  • Dorothy has had extensive Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations, Government and Public Policy experience and training over her East-Africa wide career.
  • Dorothy has supported the execution of corporate strategies and the embedding of effective corporate governance practices. She also developed a wide and deep set of expertise and relationships across industries, private sector, governments, led and project managed industry campaigns, influencer campaigns and developed key partnerships with multiple private sector players.
  • Dorothy sits on the Boards of a development finance corporation and non-governmental organisation.
  • Dorothy is a change agent who has over the years provided solution-oriented and business enabling legal and governance support with commercial astuteness and business centricity.
  • Dorothy’s skills and strengths include the ability to analyze and simplify the complex, proactively provide foresight and insight, navigate legal and regulatory landscapes, manage diverse stakeholders, and build relationships.
  • Dorothy is a budding author and is passionate about teaching, mentoring, networking, and traveling. Dorothy mentors with Project Girs4Girls, the Baobab Platform.
  • She is a tutor with the Governance Institute and a member of the adjunct faculty at Strathmore University Business school.
  • Dorothy is a member of the Boardroom Africa and is in the process of qualifying as a Certified Director with the Institute of Directors, UK.
